Team Nijhof × Waaij Stud Auction

Team Nijhof

At the Nijhof family’s operation in Geesteren, breeding, stallion management, youngstock rearing, veterinary care and a sport stable come together. The team follows horses through each stage of their development, with first-hand knowledge of their families and upbringing.

The 35 young showjumpers were selected from around 150 horses, with an initial shortlist in spring and a further selection after the summer at grass. All were raised at Team Nijhof, and many were bred there.

“It is also about what the horse is actually like.”Cameron Nijhof

Waaij Stud

The Van der Waaij family combines breeding and rearing with the development of young showjumpers at Waaij Stud in Eemnes. Jasper and Peter van der Waaij have organised The Youngsters Auction here since 2018, connecting young horses with riders and owners from around the world.

The collaboration brings that auction experience together with Team Nijhof’s knowledge of the horses. During the live auction, visitors can see how the horses jump and respond to the surroundings and the crowd.

“You can see the horses live, experience them for yourself and really get to know them.”Jasper van der Waaij
